Krista Carson is a dancer, choreographer, and thespian of the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas metropolitan area that has been performing since a young age. Krista’s journey with dance began with Dancers-In-Motion Dance Team, with which she served as a performer, assistant director, and educator for many years. As they moved into higher education, Carson’s more rigorous training began and continues under the direction of the esteemed Dr. Kihyoung Choi, and colleague Hyun Jung (Jenna) Chang. With an Associates of Arts and Dance Specialization from Tarrant County College, Carson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at Texas Woman’s University and has received various awards and recognitions for their outstanding leadership, hard work, and devotion to service in the community over the years. Known for her freelance guest artistry, Krista is a Showtime International 1st Division Championship Choreographer, as well as a recipient of the American Dance Festival Summer Intensive Scholarship, for which she was also selected to study and perform Shen Wei Dance Arts repertory “Re: III” under the direction of SWDA founding company member, Sara Procopio. Krista is a former Student Director and current Assistant, Artistic Associate, and Public Representative of Movers Unlimited Touring Dance Company, a community service-centric dance company, with which she has had the pleasure of traveling across the nation and performing at critically renowned festivals such as the Palm Desert Choreography Festival at McCallum Theatre, and the American College Dance Association Festival and Gala Concert. Supplementally, Krista has continued to further their dance experiences through established facilities such as Broadway Dance Center, Hubbard Street Dance, Alonzo King LINES, and many more. Accompanied with her many years in the theatre, Krista has also served as a choreographer, dramaturge, and dance captain for shows such as Godspell: The Musical, Alice in Wonderland, and James and the Giant Peach, Jr., and has made her own appearances on stage in noteworthy roles such as Velma Kelly in Chicago the Musical, and Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde: The Musical. Through a variety of performance opportunities and dance studies over the years, Carson possesses an expansive background in a range of movement genres such as Modern/Floorwork, Tap, Ballet, Theatre, Korean Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Street, and Latin dance forms.

In passion, Krista seeks to inspire others to embrace themselves through artistry, instill joy through movement, and ultimately celebrate life and humanity in its purest form through sharing the art of dance.
